Window tinting is a very popular customization to today’s
cars. A lot of times you can buy cars right
off of the car lot with windows that have already been tinted. If your car does not have windows that have been tinted and that is a change that you would like to make there are 3 things to consider before doing go.
off of the car lot with windows that have already been tinted. If your car does not have windows that have been tinted and that is a change that you would like to make there are 3 things to consider before doing go.
1.
Tint laws
First and foremost before you can even begin to decide how
you want your windows tinted you need to consider the tint laws in your state. Tint laws are in
place to keep you and other drivers safe on the road. These laws are specific
to color, shade, reflection and location of the windows that are to be tinted. If
you violate tint laws you can be fined and forced to have the tint removed or
lightened.
2.
Type of tint film
There are several different typesof films used to tint windows. Some are more for appearance with others are
specifically designed to block UV rays that fade interiors and heat the car.
Some of the types of tinting films used are; carbon, crystalline, dyed, hybrid
and ceramic.
3.
Installation
It is possible to buy tinting film and cut and install it
onto your windows all on your own. The process however can be hard to complete
with perfection. Tinting films are prone to get air bubbles when improperly
placed on the windows that will eventually lead to pealing or cracking. This is
why it’s typically better to take your car to a professional to have the
windows tinted. Make sure that the shop is aware of all state laws and that
they follow them. If your windows do not follow tint laws you will be the one
held responsible, not the place that did the tinting.
